Facebook Group Rules

Madera Highlands Facebook Group Rules:

The Madera Highlands Facebook group consists of more than 2,800 members. It is important to note that no set of rules will perfectly align 100% with all our residents, but the group administrators have striven to strike the best balance possible.

The group administrators are Traci Otto and John Backer.

The group moderators are: Angela Christine, Carrie Miller, and Diana Herrick.

  1. This Facebook Group is for the residents of Madera Highlands and to provide helpful and meaningful information and communication among our residents.
    • Individuals outside of Madera Highlands who are residents of Green Valley/Sahuarita can also be members of the group as long as group rules are followed.
  2. Group administrators and moderators are volunteers and must be residents of Madera Highlands and must be willing to meet in person with group admins, if requested.
  3. Community events can be promoted in this group. Examples include: Fiesta Sahuarita, Trunk or Treat, community garage sales, individual garage sales, etc
  4. If you have an issue with a neighbor, you are encouraged to discuss the issue directly with that neighbor or contact the appropriate authorities. The group should not be used to publicly shame a fellow neighbor.
  5. Business posts are limited to a single post on Monday and must include a business name, website or social media page, and local phone number.
    • For legitimate businesses who do not have a business website or business social media presence, contact John Backer.
    • There is related group Madera Highlands Business Connection where businesses can post without limiting posts to Mondays, but over posting may build a negative reputation for your business.
    • Businesses can also advertise free of charge on https://MaderaHighlands.com.
  6. This group is not associated, moderated, or monitored by the HOA or Cadden Community Management. Issues, problems or questions with the HOA should be directed to Cadden Community Management.
  7. Posts which promote events and fundraisers for schools and youth organizations including Girl Scout cookies, sports teams and clubs are welcomed.
  8. Partisan political posts are not permitted; however, some “political” post may be allowed - to provide examples:
    • Planning and Zoning issues that impact our neighborhood can be discussed in this group including providing meeting dates and times where residents can learn details and express their concerns
    • The admins can provide links to provide information for and against Ballot Propositions
    • General election information such as dates, polling places, etc can be posted by group admins
    • Town council meeting dates, times, and important issues can be posted by group admins
    • School board meeting dates, times, and important issues can be posted by group admins
  9. Items should not be listed for sale in this group other groups exists for that purpose - such as Madera Highlands Yard Sale Sahuarita AZ.
  10. Residents are encouraged to report posts which don’t adhere to the rules stated above.
  11. Members should search the group for existing recommendations before posting a new request for a referral. Over time, we will create a referral list and those vendors can also be promoted at no cost on MaderaHighlands.com
