Persons traveling from house to house carrying, conveying, or transporting goods, wares, merchandise, edible foodstuffs or provisions, offering and exposing the same for sale or making sales, and delivering articles to purchasers, or attempting to take orders for sale for future delivery or for services to be furnished or performed in the future must have a door-to-door license.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Drivers License
- Vehicle Registration for Work Vehicles
- Proof of Insurance for Work Vehicles
- TPT License (transaction business tax license)
- County Health Permit (for food sales)
- Employment Letter (to verify employee/employer relationship)
- A headshot (passport style)
Upon Approval
Each person must be licensed, and each business must have an active business license. Once the application is approved, a registration identification card will be issued, which must be kept in your possession and exhibited when conducting business.
Soliciting
Soliciting is prohibited:
After the later of 7 PM or sunset and before sunrise
Upon any premises with a sign stating "no peddlers," "no canvassers," "no solicitors," or any similar terms or combination of such terms
When requested to leave
Exemptions
- Bona fide religious or charitable businesses
- Fraternal and service clubs
- Non-profit educational institutions
- Non-profit private clubs where a basic membership fee covers the cost of the facilities
